If you know nothing else about Panini America’s new 2014-15 Paramount Basketball at this point, it’s paramount that you know this: Dufex technology — the original Dufex technology — is back. That’s a brilliant bit of news for longtime loyalists of the patented printing technology that’s been gone for way too long.
As you’ll see in the preview gallery that follows, the triumphantly returning Dufex has aged beautifully in the years since we last saw it and remains as satiny supple and velvety vibrant as we all remember. But the January-releasing Paramount Basketball has a lot more than just Dufex going for it.
Like . . . a limited print run and a completely hard-signed autograph roster. Each nine-card box of 2014-15 Paramount Basketball will deliver three autographs, one memorabilia cards and five limited Dufex cards. Other highlights of the product include . . .
The Rookie Jumbos memorabilia insert honoring the game’s top newcomers on cards featuring oversized pieces of memorabilia.
Limited-edition Dufex Variation SPs seeded one per case on average.
The Rookie Home and Away Jerseys insert features multi-swatch Prime and Laundry Tag parallels.
Rare Buy-Back Autographs with many numbered to 10 or less.
We’ll have plenty more to share on the exciting 2014-15 Paramount Basketball in the coming weeks right here on The Knight’s Lance. But until then, enjoy this preliminary sneak peek at the product which includes an extended exploration of the stunning Dufex technology as it appears on a few almost-completed uncut sheets.
Next month’s release of 2014-15 Panini Paramount Basketball marks the return of a brand that has not been seen in the hobby for over a decade.
Paramount’s basketball debut is already getting some buzz for its all-Dufex base set and many of its other features, but the to potential to pull autographed buyback cards from previous Panini releases adds even more value to packs. With some cards hand-numbered to as low as one-of-one, player collectors are sure to be chasing their favorites as well.
“The original BuyBack autographs in 2014-15 Paramount Basketball pay tribute to Panini America‘s brief but monumental history as the exclusive NBA trading card manufacturer,” said Panini America Hobby Marketing Manager Tracy Hackler. “Hard-signed autographs from the best players in the game on some iconic cards from Panini America’s proud past — that’s an undeniably cool combination that we’re certain collectors will appreciate.”

Panini America is bringing back a hobby legend this week with the release of the all-new 2014-15 Paramount Basketball. As a maiden release, Paramount as a whole will need some time to reach legendary status. It’s the velveteen technology inherent on every Paramount base card and parallel that’s the stuff of legend already. Original Dufex is back.
One of the hobby’s most-adored printing technologies of all time, Dufex storms back into the hobby after a years-long hiatus as a centerpiece of 2014-15 Paramount Basketball, which arrives in hobby shops across North America on Wednesday.
Each hobby box of 2014-15 Paramount Basketball delivers three autographs, one memorabilia card and five Dufex cards. The product also features Next Day Autographs that were acquired last summer during the 2014 NBA Rookie Photo Shoot and Original Buyback Autographs. Oh, and every autograph in the set is signed on-card.
