For the hardcore hoops collecting world anxiously awaiting Friday’s release of 2014-15 Select Basketball, The Knight’s Lance has something to help you pass the time: The world-premiere first look at 2014-15 Preferred Basketball. Annually one of basketball’s most anticipated and adored brands, the Preferred franchise will boast a bolstered array of booklet cards and autograph inserts when it arrives in late June.

Every four-card pack of 2014-15 Preferred Basketball will deliver three autographs numbered to 99 or less and one booklet card. Among the innovative new memorabilia booklets featured this season will be the vertically oriented Champs and Swish inserts and the stunning, acetate-aided Playbook Rookie Jumbo.


Other highlights of 2014-15 Preferred Basketball include . . .

• The premiere of all-new autograph sets such as Roundball Signature Die-Cuts, Dynamic Debuts and Unparalleled.

• Stat Line Memorabilia booklets featuring photography and statistics from the exact game the featured jersey swatch
  was worn.

• The triumphant return of jaw-dropping NBA Finals booklets, this year featuring jerseys worn during Game 2 of the 2014 NBA Finals.

• The introduction of VS: 1 on 1 memorabilia booklets featuring jumbo swatches and stunning photography of two players facing off against each other.

• The return of the iconic Silhouettes jersey autograph cards, including beautiful patch versions sequentially numbered to 25 or less.

Packout for Panini America’s upcoming 2014-15 Preferred Basketball began in earnest Friday afternoon, officially triggering the countdown to the product’s highly anticipated June 24 release. Since its introduction in 2011, the Preferred brand has become synonymous with “industry standard” in the realm of epic booklet card design — but for the 2014-15 edition, Panini America’s Creative and Product Development teams are raising the bar considerably.

If you’ve been tuned to the Panini America Twitter and Instagram feeds in the last week or so, you’ve seen glimpses of exactly what that bar-raising entails. Today, as the basketball world prepares for a pivotal Game 5 in the 2015 NBA Finals, we thought we’d open the book, so to speak, on previewing 2014-15 Preferred Basketball’s crazy-rich booklet content.
